The GOD Issue

Daryl Metcalfe supposedly carries a Christian Bible around with him and uses the excuse of his version of Christianity to explain his public actions of hate mongering, xenophobia, and homophobia.  The problem arises in HIS PERSONAL VERSION of Christianity. After many years of using selective readings or personal interpretations of what the Bible supposedly says to excuse treating blacks and women poorly, most people now reject those type of interpretations.

Not Daryl Metcalfe though. He is still using selective readings instead of reading the Bible within its historical context. Therefore he might or could be called a "literalist". However, if he actually was a true literalist he should be closing his bank accounts and giving ALL of his money to the poor instead of being a capitalist. As a literalist, he would also need to stop eating rabbit, pork, turtles, shellfish, snails, or any other creature "Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you" in order to comply with Leviticus instead of cherry-picking one sentence from Leviticus and discarding the rest of the chapter and book.

Unfortunately for him, Daryl Metcalfe is NOT the President of the United States. Daryl Metcalfe does not have the right to "cherry pick" which parts of the Bible he chooses to personally interpret or follow the way that the Bush Administration cherry picked "the intelligence" and chose to ignore certain facts like there were NO weapons of mass destruction. Daryl Metcalfe performs a great disservice to his constituents with his personal interpretations of the Bible. -- Using his own personal interpretations of any religion in a political setting is just NOT ACCEPTABLE to the general public which may or may not be solely Christian. As Mr. Arlia stated in his "Letter" published in the Cranberry Eagle, (full text is available under our PUBLIC OUTRAGE button on the left) Daryl Metcalfe IS one of those "supposed Christians who cause Jesus to shake his head in sadness."
